What is the most important issue facing the state government today?

What do you believe is the most important issue facing the state government system today? What do you believe the State Legislature should do about it. I want your guys' oppinions on the situations...

1. gov't waste fraud abuse entitlements that can't be afforded corruption endless make work jobs the usual stuff
2. They cant balance their budgets.
3. Individual States are loosing power to the Federal Government & this is a huge problem for our country as a whole! This has been on going since the War Between the States.
4. The same thing that is always the most important thing for State Senators and Representatives: Raising campaign funds.
5. Wasteful spending Unemployment rates Breaking the cycle of dependence on welfare
6. Their major focus is on securing any reelection and job security for themselves. Anything else is second to none for them. State legislature should put politicians under a kind of success target orientation, but who will finally set the targets?
7. In Alabama its the Bingo/Casino issues. Did you see the 200 state troopers at country crossings? Ridiculous. Alot of fighting going on about it.
