Suspect Businesses

We suspect that some of our wedding presents got stolen. How to word thank you cards without offending anybody?

We suspect that some of our wedding presents got stolen. Now the dilemma is how to word the thank you cards if we do not know for sure who gave us presents and what they gave. We do not want to be rude and not send thank you cards to the ones that gave or sound sarcastic if we thank someone that didn't give us any presents.Any ideas?

  1. just for the ones your unsure of say thank you for coming and thanks for the gift. you dont have to say what it is
  2. WOW thats a hard one! Sorry sweetie!
  3. Maybe something like "Thank you so much for sharing our special day with us. Your presence meant all the world to us" that way you can thank people without making them feel guilty if they didn't actually give you a gift
  4. Thank them for being there to celebrate your wedding and for helping to make it such a special day.
  5. How unfortunate! Well, people love (and expect!) to get thank you cards after a wedding so I think the best thing to do is send cards out to every guest. Keep them simple and sweet: Dear Mary & John, Thank you both so much for the very generous gift. We are so happy you were able to join us on our very special day, and we hope you had a great time. Thanks again to you both, Love, Your names
  6. If I were a guest at your weddin, I'd want you to call me and explain. That way, i could cancel my check and give you a new one...
  7. I'm thinking as a guest here... And I'd want to know so I could let you know what I gave you and what its value was so the theft could be reported. I think you may want to do a generic "thank you for sharing our day" note and maybe include a handwritten insert stating that you suspect some of your gifts may have been stolen and you would appreciate knowing if a gift was brought to your wedding so it could be reported. People who didn't give you anything will probably not respond. People who DID give you a gift would contact you.
